CONCRETE CRACK INJECTION
At AWS we provide a wide range of concrete crack injection repairs throughout Sydney, Perth and Melbourne including epoxy injection, polyurethane injection and acrylic gel injection.
World-Class Concrete Injection Materials We Use:
Epoxy Injection for Repairing Concrete Cracks
Epoxy injection for Concrete Crack Repair in foundations, basements, beams, columns, slabs, walls and other concrete structures.
Injection of epoxies under pressure may be used to bond the cracks being greater than or equal to 0.05mm opening. This method is not applicable if the crack is active, the cracks are large in number, or when the water leakage cannot be controlled. If the cause of the cracking has not been corrected, it will reoccur near the original crack. Extreme caution must be exercised when injecting cracks that are not visible on all surfaces.
Epoxy Injection is the single best solution for repairing cracks in concrete. AWS Services utilizes a wide variety of high-strength epoxy and urethane resins which get injected into the cracks under pressure by special pneumatic machines. This system ensures that the crack will be thoroughly filled with epoxy, making the crack not only structurally sound but preventing water intrusion and subsequent spalling.
Polyurethane Injection for Repairing Concrete Cracks
Polyurethane is a fluid resin which is injected into concrete cracks, rock fissures, expansion joints and other voids in solid underground structures. When used in concrete crack injection applications the polyurethane is injected into a crack; within minutes the polyurethane undergoes a chemical transformation from a liquid to a solid.
The versatility, and consequently the popularity, of polyurethane resins in crack injection applications stems from polyurethane’s properties:
- It has a very short cure time, making it ideal for urgent water stopping
- The resin cures normally whether a foundation crack is wet, actively leaking, or dry
- There are literally thousands of polyurethane resin formulations which is useful when repairing foundation cracks because the viscosity of the resin and cure time can be controlled
- Polyurethane, once cured, can be quite flexible depending on the formulation.
Acrylic Gel Injection for Concrete Crack Repairs
Acrylate Gel Injection is designed for permeating very fine soil and filling narrow voids between the interface area of the concrete and substrate. It can also be used for creation of grout curtains behind existing concrete walls or abutments and homogenous membranes beneath concrete floors.
The very low viscosity guarantees that even the smallest of voids, soil fractures, honeycombs, capillaries and hairline cracks will be completely filled and sealed with injection material.
